NB ‘Blackwater Rose’

Boat Charter & Trip Program 2012

Charters

Traditionally the commercial boating season begins at Easter through to October. However we can provide charters throughout the year, subject to safe river conditions, for periods of 2 hours or more from Sandford Lock, Chelmsford.

Unfortunately our prices had to be increased this year as a consequence of an increase in fuel, mooring charges and VAT. Therefore prices now start at £110.00 for up to 2 hours and then increase with longer charter periods as required. In previous years, during the month of July, Blackwater Rose was operated from Hoe Mill Lock to enable charters & trips up river to Paper Mill Lock and down river to Heybridge.  This year it is intended that Blackwater Rose will repeat this variation from the first week of July, for a period of approximately 2 weeks. This part of our program will provide new and previous customers an opportunity for boating on the lower parts of the rivers Chelmer & Blackwater that would otherwise be beyond our cruising range for a day charter.

Trips

Our 1 hour trips will resume on Sunday 8th April and operate between 2pm & 5pm a leaving our base at Sandford Lock on the hour. They will go either upstream or downstream, and includes the experience of passing one way through a traditional Lock. There are opportunities for a 2 hour trip that enables visitors to see approximately 2 miles of the river, between Chelmer Village and Boreham, and experience a passage both ways through a Lock. All prices are detailed on our website however discounts are available, and priority trip places given, to visitors who book their trips in advance for both 1 & 2 hour trip options.

Hourly trips will alternate upstream/downstream so why not stay aboard for a trip both ways

Trip tickets must be purchased before boarding
